HIGH-QUALITY, EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE
If you thought effective stain removal and environmental responsibility could not possibly go together – think again! Keeping things cleaner and well-maintained for longer means they do not need to be replaced so quickly. You only have to look at a product, its contents and packaging, to see that it does not justify the ecological footprints incurred.
The whole matter of eco-balance has become a key focus at delta pronatura and ensuring high quality is a huge part of that. Producing sustainably is all very well but the product has to work too. And that’s why we are constantly exploring the multi-facetted topic of sustainability – trailblazing ahead with our flagship brand Dr. Beckmann.

A clean business – Keeping chemicals down
Scum and algae carpets in our rivers and seas started raising public alarm in the early 80s. Phosphates in laundry detergents were subsequently banned – but products often failed to remove stains in the wash.
Phosphate-free Dr. Beckmann Stain Salt for machine-washing, however, revolutionised the laundry detergent market. Thanks to its effective oxygen-based formula, it still echoes senior partner Heiner Beckmann’s coined motto: as few chemicals as possible – as many as necessary. Preserving resources and reducing negative impacts on the environment constitute fundamental principles in all our decisions. In fact, we have called it our “Footprint Reduction Mission”.

Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Sustainability defines our company in so many ways. Since 2007, we have been a committed member of the A.I.S.E. Charter for Sustainable Cleaning.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) “the delta pronatura way” means: We do not only acknowledge our social responsibility towards our employees, but also our society and environment as a whole. For us, CSR is far from a secondary afterthought. On the contrary, CSR determines how we run our core business: environmentally friendly, ethical, socially responsible and economically successful to boot
There are many aspects to consider. Click here to find out exactly how we fulfil the criteria of the German Sustainability Code – the national benchmark for sustainable business..
Eco-friendly products & packaging – Rethinking the HOW factor
The search for environmentally friendly formulas and recipes that also work effectively represents a key task for our researchers. And the packaging? Well, preferably none. But modern merchandise management requires protective and bundling containers in many places.
Detergents
All detergent substances used are biodegradable.
Apricot kernels & co.
Natural solutions: Instead of using microplastic as a polishing agent, we capitalise on the benefits of clay, activated carbon and ground apricot kernels.
Delivery / Raw materials
Of the 3000 tonnes of raw materials annually purchased from our headquarters in Egelsbach, 93 percent have been sourced from within the European Union and Switzerland
Folding boxes
All delta pronatura folding boxes are produced from 100% recycled paper and are recyclable.
Plastic bottles / container
Bottles with ultra-thin walls are the result of continuous optimisation in the field of bottle statics – saving on plastic, reducing transport loads and CO2 emissions.
.
Solar energy
The power of the sun covers all our electricity requirements at our Egelsbach site – and even ensures eco-friendly driving for private cars thanks to our public charging station.

Putting quality first
Sustainable means nothing without quality. Our customers have always been able to rely on the consistently high quality of our products. And that is precisely why we have designed a detailed quality management system with clearly defined guidelines:
Motivated, well-qualified staff are our key asset at delta pronatura and the root of our success as a company. We practice open, honest communication with each other and ensure ongoing education and training opportunities for all divisions. Our employees enjoy vital job security and are remunerated in line with chemical industry tariffs. Subject to position, we also award special allowances and bonuses on accomplishing specific goals.
We set business objectives together with the management board and define all the steps we need to take in order to achieve them. Internal and external audits make up an essential part of our evaluation, efficiently highlighting both weaknesses and potential for improvement. This collaborative teamwork forms the bedrock of our success.
Wherever possible, we aim to keep the diverse aspects of our value chain in-house. This is especially true for Research and Development, Production, Storage and Quality Management. Our supplier assessment system guarantees that delta pronatura cooperates exclusively with suppliers whose products fulfil the same quality requirements as our own.
Fulfilling all legal and regulatory requirements has always provided a statutory basis for our activities, while at the same time representing a minimum standard for products placed on the market by delta pronatura.

Growing together

Learning and personal development are a lifelong process. In our experience, wanting to learn together puts people on the same wavelength. And that’s why we have started up the Dr. Beckmann Academy here at delta pronatura. The Dr. Beckmann Academy globally fosters knowledge and a deeper understanding of the brand’s assets: It is run by Dr. Beckmann employees who share their expertise with representatives from international distributors. All internships, apprenticeships and further training for our staff are also scheduled by the Dr. Beckmann Academy.

Climate relief through solar energy and patronage
Sunlight provides a key source of energy: Since 2013, one of the largest photovoltaic plants in South Hesse has been working hard on our Egelsbach roof. 2500 modules comprising a total area of 9000 square metres cover our entire on-site electricity consumption. Our annual energy use of around 515 kWp is roughly the equivalent to the consumption of 130 households. We aim to keep our CO2 emissions down to a minimum, where possible balancing them with various climate protection projects. Our exclusive use of green gas similarly represents another mindful contribution towards global climate awareness and protection.
Green energy enhances eco-friendly driving: Since 2019, the general public in our district has also been able to benefit from environmentally friendly driving thanks to the abundant solar power converted by our delta roof. Moreover, the first charging station for electric cars donated by a company in Egelsbach is located on our very premises on the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring road.
Leading by example: Heiner Beckmann was patron of the very first Egelsbach Climate & Environment Day. Offering stacks of information and initiatives such as planting 100 trees, the entire day in late September 2019 was geared to exploring how every single one of us can contribute towards climate and environmental protection on an individual level.
